I have wanted to do a mini triathlon for a while and when my colleague told me he was going to set himself the challenge of a long distance swim this year, it made me think I may as well join him with my own personal challenge. Triathlon Pink raises money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) so I will get to help a really meaningful cause at the same time.
The triathlon takes place at Stromlo on 17th March and I've chosen to do the ultra which is 600m swim, 19km cycle and 6km run. My aim is not to win, but just to raise some charitable funds, take it at my own pace, do my best and see it through. The running will be the most challenging part for me because it's my weakest area, it's at the end of the race and cause of the arthritis in my ankle. But, I am determined.
